Economists Kei-Mu Yi and Scott Frame Join the Dallas Fed

DALLAS—Two noted economists have joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Kei-Mu Yi is a senior vice president at the Dallas Fed while on leave from the University of Houston, where he serves as the M.D. Anderson Professor of Economics. Yi is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Prior to joining the University of Houston, Yi held positions at the Federal Reserve Banks of New York, Philadelphia and Minneapolis, where he was the director of research and special policy advisor.

Yi’s research focuses on international trade and is a widely published author. He holds a B.S. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.

Scott Frame joins the Dallas Fed as a vice president leading research in banking and finance. Frame was previously a financial economist and senior adviser on the financial markets team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. His major fields of study are financial institutions, credit markets, real estate and public policy.

Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed in 2001, Frame served as a senior financial economist at the U.S. Treasury Department. His research has been published in many journals and he currently serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Journal of Financial Services Research and Journal of Financial Research. He holds a B.S. in economics from Arizona State University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Georgia.
