Dallas Fed Announces Executive Promotions

DALLAS—The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has announced the following promotions:

— Pia Orrenius has been promoted to assistant vice president. Orrenius’ responsibilities include serving as editor of the Southwest Economy publication and managing the production of the Dallas Fed’s Business Outlook Surveys.

Previously, she served as research officer. Orrenius joined the Dallas Fed as an economist in 1999 and served as a senior economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisors from July 2004 to July 2005.

Orrenius holds a PhD in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and bachelor’s degrees in economics and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

—Kay Gribbin has been promoted to assistant vice president with continuing responsibility for administration of the Research Department.

Gribbin joined the Dallas Fed in 1984. During her tenure, Gribbin has been actively involved in numerous volunteer efforts and Bank programs. She currently serves as chair of the Federal Reserve System’s Committee on Research Support Management.

Gribbin is a graduate of the Dallas Fed’s career development program and holds an associate degree in liberal sciences from Richland College.

—Mario Hernandez has been promoted to statistics officer.

Previously, Hernandez served as director of statistics. He recently assumed responsibility for all of the Statistics Department’s operations and serves on a number of Federal Reserve System groups. Hernandez joined the Dallas Fed in 1989 as a statistics analyst.

Hernandez holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Arlington.
